Minister Of Health Budi Sadikin: Those Who Are Not Congested And Not Comorbid, Don't Go To The Hospital

JAKARTA - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin explained the categories of COVID-19 patients and the current condition of the availability of treatment rooms to Commission IX of the DPR during a work meeting at the DPR Building, Monday, July 5.

Especially in Jakarta, said the Minister of Health, for the treatment of patients who must enter the hospital are patients with moderate conditions, saturation of 95 percent and above, there is shortness of breath and there are comorbidities. "We make sure that they can get access to the hospital," said Minister of Health Budi.

"Meanwhile, patients who do not have to be in the hospital or whose saturation is above 95 percent, have no shortness of breath and no comorbidities, we urge you not to enter the hospital because it will fulfill it, preventing people who should be able to enter cannot enter," he continued. .

Nevertheless, Budi explained, the Ministry of Health continues to add a centralized isolation room for those who are in the mild category with saturation above 95 percent, not congested and not comorbid.

He said, currently at the Wisma Atlet RSDC there are 8000 rooms, where now his party has opened the second and third isolation rooms, namely the 3000-room Nagrak flats, and the 4,000-room Pasar Rumput flats.

"So we have added 7000 isolation rooms to accommodate people who are indeed positive but have mild symptoms or OTG and cannot self-isolate," he explained.

As for the addition of hospitals, the Ministry of Health has converted 3 government hospitals, namely RS. Fatmawati, RS. Friendship, and RS. Sulianti Saroso with a total of about 1000 beds.

"It becomes 100 percent of the COVID-19 Hospital to be able to help DKI," said Budi.

In addition, he continued, the Ministry of Health has also prepared a backup hospital at Wisma Haji Pondok Gede. "Last night we finalized the capacity of 900 rooms and yesterday we started working with the Ministry of Public Works to become a reserve hospital that can treat moderate patients," he explained.

The Ministry of Health, Budi added, will also build 50 ICUs at Wisma Haji Pondok Gede so that a total of 950 additional rooms will operate starting this Wednesday, July 7th.

"We also have instructions for the ER to be converted into an isolation room, so that it can accommodate patients who have entered and the ER we work with BNPB to build hospital tents," said Budi.

The Minister of Health realized that areas with high COVID-19 cases also needed health workers. Therefore, the Ministry of Health brought in health workers from areas that are still in the green zone, namely some from Kalimantan and Sumatra to help reserve hospitals.

"And we also prepare a bed and a place to stay for them," he explained.

As for the availability of oxygen, Minister of Health Budi said that the national oxygen production capacity is 866,000 tons per year, but now its utilization is only 75 percent.

"So the real thing produced every year is 639,900 tons per year, of which around 75 percent is used for industries such as steel, nickel, smelters and then 458,588 tons for medical, only 181,312 tons.

"And the commitment from the ministry of industry is that the conversion of oxygen from industry to medical is given up to 90 percent. So around 575,000 tons per year will be allocated for medical," said Budi.
