Harmoko Will Be Buried At TMP Kalibata With Strict Procedures And Only Attended By Family

JAKARTA - The Minister of Information under President Suharto, Harmoko, will be buried at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP), Jakarta, Monday, July 5.

Golkar DPP chairman Dave Laksono said Harmoko's funeral would be held today with strict health protocols.

"The plan is at 10.30 WIB. But with a very strict and very limited process," said Dave when contacted by VOI, Monday, July 5.

He added that the funeral procession would only be attended by the family. Representatives and the government, said Dave, also did not attend the event.

"Nothing, just family and officers," said Dave.

The former Minister of Information during the Suharto era died at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, Sunday, July 4.

Harmoko is an Indonesian politician. In addition to serving as minister of information, Harmoko also served as chairman of the MPR when BJ Habibie became president.

Reported from various sources, Harmoko was born in Nganjuk, East Java, February 7, 1939. Harmoko was also noted to have been the General Chair of the Golkar Party.

Harmoko was previously a journalist and cartoonist at Harian Merdeka and Magazine Merdeka. Harmoko is also the former chairman of the Central Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI).
