Propose To Be Indonesia Opera, PT TWC Ready To Manage TMII
SLEMAN – Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) is proposed to be revitalized with the concept of Indonesia Opera. This concept presents the diversity and richness of regional potential and Indonesian culture in a contemporary, relevant and inspiring way.
The proposal came from the President Director of PT Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (Persero) Edy Setijono. He stated that he was ready to manage the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) Jakarta for the better.
"We are ready and invite all parties to work together in building a better TMII. Building a TMII requires the support of all parties to become a collective pride," said Edy Setijono as quoted by ANTARA in Sleman, Yogyakarta, Sunday, July 4.
On July 2, 2021, Secretary to the Minister of State Secretariat Setya Utama together with the President Director of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (Persero) Edy Setijono gave internal directions in a consolidation meeting for the new management of TMII, to representatives of TMII employees in the Nusantara Meeting Room, Management Building. TMII.
The event, which was attended by the directors of PT TWC as well as the management, was also attended by former directors of TMII as a form of collaboration as well as an introduction event to build a joint commitment (taking ownership) to unite the vision that will be applied in better management of TMII in the future.
"We convey to the Ministry of State Secretariat that TMII must be developed in mutual cooperation. This TMII should be the pride of all. Of course we really hope that we can immediately move together and choose the right format, so that the ideals of TMII as a showcase of Indonesian culture can soon be realized," he said.
According to him, the mandate given by the state as the owner of the assets has its own challenges. It takes seriousness and a strong commitment to build and develop TMII for the better.
Edy Setijono also invited all TMII employees to develop professional work patterns through the implementation of "Good Corporate Governance" (GCG). Good GCG implementation has proven to make PT TWC's performance in the last five years grow rapidly.
"PT TWC invites all stakeholders to be actively involved in creating responsible creativity, in line with the vision of development in realizing TMII's ideals as a representation of the diversity and richness of the Indonesian nation's potential that can attract global people to visit Indonesia," he said. .
He said the existence of TMII was needed to preserve the original Indonesian culture and values and to build the nation's character with the spirit of unity in diversity.
As of July 1, 2021, the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg) has officially collaborated on the management of TMII with PT TWC, as a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) in the tourism sector, in the form of Utilization Cooperation (KSP). This is based on various inputs and considerations, including those from BPK RI and BPKP.
