Breaking Record Of 9,702 Jakarta COVID-19 Cases On The First Day Of Emergency PPKM
JAKARTA - The daily increase in COVID-19 cases in Jakarta again broke a new record with 9,702 cases on the first day of the implementation of the Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).
Based on data from the Jakarta Health Service on the corona.Jakarta.go.id page, with the addition of 9,702 positive cases, the total positive confirmed cases increased from 560,408 to 570,110 cases.
The increase in 9,702 cases was the result of a PCR swab test the day before, namely Friday, July 2.
The PCR test on July 2, 2021 was tested on 30,136 specimens. Of these tests, 23,807 people were newly tested by PCR to diagnose new cases with 9,702 positive and 14,105 negative results.
The DKI Health Office in its statement stated that as many as 13.5 percent of the 9,702 positive cases today were children under the age of 18, with 975 cases being children aged 6-18 years and 334 cases aged 0-5 years. Meanwhile, 7,513 cases were aged 19-59 years and 880 cases were aged 60 years and over.
"Therefore, it is very important for parents to take care of their children more strictly and avoid leaving the house with the children," said Head of Disease Prevention and Control, DKI Jakarta Health Service, Dwi Oktavia as quoted by Antara.

With the increase in positive cases of COVID-19 as many as 9,271, the number of active cases who are still being treated or isolated has increased by 3,989 people from the previous number of 78,394 people. The current total active cases are 82,383 people.
Meanwhile, the number of patients recovered from exposure to COVID-19 was 5,683 people. The total number of recovered patients rose from 473,467 to 479,150.
With a total of 479,150 recovered patients, Jakarta has a recovery percentage of 84.0 percent (down from the previous 84.5 percent) of the current total 570,110 positive COVID-19 cases.
A total of 8,577 of them died after an additional 30 people died from the previous figure of 8,547 people. This figure is 1.5 percent (same as before) of the accumulated positive cases.
DKI Jakarta also recorded the percentage of positive cases based on the number of tests (positivity rate) for COVID-19 over the past week at 38.6 percent (up from the previous 38.5 percent).
This figure is far above the percentage limit set by the World Health Organization (WHO) in a week for one region, which requires the percentage to be no more than five percent to be categorized as a safe area.
