Governor Of East Java: Regents-Mayors Spearhead Emergency PPKM, Reminds The Allocation Of Social Assistance Funds
SURABAYA - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa gave a message to regents/mayors in the local area regarding the implementation of the implementation of emergency community activity restrictions (PPKM).
"Regional heads as the spearhead must make a breakdown or details of existing regulations and are expected to maximize the implementation of emergency PPKM in their respective regions," he said, quoted by Antara, Saturday, July 3.
Emergency PPKM is officially enforced today, July 3, 2021 to July 20, 2021, which will take place on the islands of Java and Bali, and in East Java in 38 regencies/cities.
According to him, regional heads and Forkopimda officials have the authority to regulate malls, markets, tourist attractions and others.
"Let's maximize the implementation in the field, because the legal umbrella has come down," said the number one person in the East Java Provincial Government.
Regarding social assistance (bansos), Governor Khofifah asked regional heads to immediately prepare for the allocation of funds according to applicable regulations.
This, he said, was a form of social protection for the community, not only in terms of health, but also as a safeguard for the survival of the affected community.
"Hopefully, at the latest within three days, each of them can allocate a budget for Social Assistance or Social Safety Nets that can strengthen the affected communities," he said.
Meanwhile, Khofifah has also issued a Decree (SK) of the Governor of East Java Number 188/379/KPTS/013/2021 dated July 2, 2021 regarding the implementation of the COVID-19 Emergency PPKM in East Java.
The Governor's Decree is also a follow-up to President Jokowi's policy as well as the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 15 of 2021 concerning Emergency PPKM in the Java and Bali regions which was also issued on the same day.
Then, to help smooth all tasks, during the implementation of emergency PPKM or every day from 10.00 WIB to 11.00 WIB, a joint prayer is held.
In addition to the smooth implementation of emergency PPKM, continued Khofifah, prayers are also for members of the TNI-POLRI who are on duty in the field, health workers and for people who are exposed to COVID-19, including patients who are seriously ill and died.
