Bulog Guarantees Safe Rice Stock During Java-Bali Emergency PPKM

JAKARTA - Perum BULOG guarantees a safe supply of controlled rice during the Java-Bali Emergency PPKM which will start today. Not only that, BULOG also ensures that it is able to deal with the need for an unexpected spike in rice during the implementation of the policy.

The Corporate Secretary of Perum BULOG, Awaludin Iqbal, asked all levels of BULOG to be aware of the surge in demand during the Emergency PPKM period. This is to avoid public concerns about the need for rice.

Furthermore, he said, his party has issued instructions to all levels to prepare rice stocks and other food needs which are the responsibility of BULOG to always be available in the community.

"There is no problem, BULOG guarantees that rice needs are available in the community even though there is a surge in demand. BULOG will use all existing instruments to ensure food availability," he said in an official statement, Saturday, July 3.

In addition, BULOG also ensures that all networks that work with Perum BULOG have provided rice needs at the local level both online and offline as well as outlets belonging to Perum BULOG such as RPK (Rumah Pangan Kita) spread throughout Indonesia, as well as modern retail networks. which exists.

"BULOG itself also has an online sales system, namely IPANGANANDOTCOM, which will provide convenience and speed in purchasing food needs for the community," he said.

Furthermore, he explained that the food needs purchased through IPANGANANDOTCOM will be delivered directly to the buyer's house. This will speed up and ensure that the distribution of rice is directly accepted by the community.

Until now, Awaludin said the number of rice stocks stored in BULOG warehouses throughout Indonesia was 1.4 million tons. This is a safe limit according to the government's assignment, which is 1 to 1.5 million tons.

"There is also no problem with distribution, because BULOG includes the scope of a critical industrial sector to fulfill the basic needs of the people on a daily basis. So our employees are allowed to work 100 percent with health protocols," he said.
