JAKARTA - Rachmawati Soekarnoputri passed away on Saturday, July 3. The sad news was conveyed by Gerindra Party politician, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.

"Sad news, Innalilahi wa innaillaihi rojiun, On July 3, 2021, at around 06.45 WIB, Mrs. Rachmawati Soekarnoputri has passed away at the RSPAD," Sufmi wrote on his Twitter account, quoted on Saturday, July 3.

Rachmawati is on the Board of Trustees of the Gerindra Party. He is also known as the founder of the Pioneer Party.

Rachmawati who was born in Jakarta, 27 September 1950 is the younger brother of the PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. Rachmawati is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bung Karno Education Foundation.
