President Putin Says Russia Prepares Sarmat Up To S-500 To Enter Military Service
JAKARTA - The Russian government plans to deploy a number of its unique and newest weapons, entering military service to strengthen the military capabilities of the Red Bear Country.
During his meeting with alumni of military universities in the Kremlin on Monday, June 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed that the unique weapon system will soon be used for combat duty.
"Hypersonic weapons – the Avangard and Kinzhal systems are already on combat duty. Next is another unique weaponry," President Putin quoted TASS as saying June 28.
"This includes the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, the Tsirkon shipboard hypersonic missile, the S-500 'Prometei' surface-to-air missile system and other hypersonic missile systems," the Russian leader said.
Russia is already working on a new state arms program with a planning horizon to 2034, taking into account breakthrough innovations by the country's leading research institutes and design bureaus, President Putin said.
"The implementation will be focused on further strengthening the defense potential of the country. And, of course, you will operate this hardware," the Russian leader told graduates of Russian military universities.
The highest requirements are also set for graduates of educational institutions of law enforcement agencies and special services, President Putin said in front of the graduates.
"They will join the ranks of their colleagues who ensure law and order, save people, participate in cleanup of natural disasters, fight crime, corruption and terrorism. Protect our country and people from internal and external threats," he explained.
"Significant and tangible results in this and other key areas are the assurance of citizen confidence and the confident and consistent development of Russia."
President Putin underlined that he firmly believes that every Russian soldier in his post will act professionally and decisively, in the interests of the country.
