Anies Reminds Cycling On The Streets Banned During PPKM Emergency: If It's A Transport Violation!

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan asked the residents of the capital city to no longer exercise in public places. The request relates to the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

"Saturday, Sunday, residents of Jakarta usually exercise, please continue to exercise at home, in the complex but don't go out, whether you're cycling, running, or walking. Don't do it on the road, do it at home and in complexes," he said. Anies told reporters, Friday, July 2.

Anies also highlighted the habit of the people of Jakarta who often cycled. Later, when the Emergency PPKM policy is implemented, no one will be allowed to cycle on the streets of the capital city.

If later there are people who are stubborn, strict sanctions will be given. Officers will confiscate the bike of the offender.

"Including cyclists, we will enforce them, if they violate, they will be transported with their bicycles," said Anies.

Therefore, Anies appealed to the public to stay at home during the implementation of the PPKM Darurut policy. That way, the community in helping to suppress the spread of COVID-19.

"Stay at home, practice at home, we want you to be safe," said Anies.

President Jokowi has established the Emergency PPKM scheme as the latest policy for controlling the pandemic. Emergency PPKM will take effect from 3 to 20 July 2021. Emergency PPKM applies throughout Java and Bali. In its implementation, the Emergency PPKM will be led by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
