Tanah Abang Market Block ABF Closed During Emergency PPKM

JAKARTA - Perumda Pasar Jaya closed Tanah Abang Market Blocks A, B and F during the implementation of Emergency PPKM on July 3-20.

The closing of the market was confirmed by Hery Supriyatna, the manager of the Tanah Abang Market. Hery explained that all shops, both Blocks A, B and F, which sell garments and textiles, were closed.

However, Block G, which includes a traditional market, is still operating because it is a market category that meets daily needs, according to the Emergency PPKM implementation guidelines.

"What Block G is not closing is because there are traditional markets, wet markets and grocery markets," said Hery.

This temporary closure has been socialized to thousands of kiosks and traders in Tanah Abang Market through information banners and social media.

Managers as representatives of traders at Tanah Abang Market hope that this temporary closure will only be carried out during Emergency PPKM or until July 20, 2021 and not be extended.

Hery supports the Government's policy of implementing this Emergency PPKM so that the rate of virus spread in DKI Jakarta can be suppressed.

"We hope that the closure until the 20th can make a maximum contribution to suppressing the spread of the virus. So that after the 20th, everything has started to slope and return to normal again," he said.

The closing was also conveyed by Perumda Pasar Jaya through the Instagram account @perumdapasarjaya, Friday.

"All traders in the management of Tanah Abang Wholesale Market Blocks A, B and F are temporarily closed," wrote PD Pasar Jaya.
