Puan Maharani: The Success Of The Emergency PPKM Is Determined By The Community

JAKARTA - The Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, asked the public not to worry about the implementation of the Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), which will start tomorrow, July 3 to July 20.

Because according to him, Emergency PPKM will be successful if there is consistency and toughness of the government, as well as the active participation of the community.

"Success is very much determined by community participation. Let's make a determination to end this emergency situation. We can definitely do it!," said Puan in her statement, Friday, July 2.

The chairman of the PDIP DPP emphasized that Emergency PPKM must be implemented properly and with discipline. Therefore, he encourages all parties to help so that Emergency PPKM is carried out perfectly.

"Enforce the rules, don't stop as policies on paper," said Puan.

Puan assessed that the implementation of the Emergency PPKM was President Joko Widodo's response to the input of many parties to respond to the surge in COVID-19. He hopes that later this policy will really be effective in suppressing the rate of the corona virus in Indonesia, especially the islands of Java and Bali.

"We all want this nation to recover quickly from the pandemic," said Puan.

It is known, due to the surge in COVID-19 cases which for two weeks reached more than 20,000, President Jokowi officially decided to implement the Emergency Community Activity Restriction (PPKM), Thursday, July 1.

The intervention measures will take effect from tomorrow, July 3 to July 20, 2021.

For the areas where the Emergency PPKM is applied, it is specifically applied to the Java and Bali islands, particularly in 122 regencies/cities.
