JAKARTA - An Indonesian citizen from Tulungagung Regency, East Java Province, Sri Juwariah (47) died of COVID-19 in Malaysia.

He said the logistical assistance was a collaboration between the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and the Alliance of Indonesian Community Organizations (AOMI) in Malaysia.

The deceased lived on Jalan Kampung Aman Sri Kembangan, Selangor and initially worked as a housemaid.

"The deceased died at Hospital Serdang, Selangor on Tuesday, June 29," he said.

Hafsah said she had not worked since she was pregnant and her child is now one year old.

Based on information from the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, the deceased's younger sister, Nurhasanah, did not object and gave permission for the parties in Malaysia to take care of the deceased's body at USJ 22 Islamic Cemetery, Subang Jaya, Selangor.

Furthermore, Hafsah said that apart from the deceased, there was another Indonesian citizen who was critically treated at the Serdang Hospital.

"No one dared to take care of it, so several parties called us. Please pray for him to recover," said the alumni of Udayana University in Bali who is married to a Malaysian citizen.
