Gubsu Edy Smacked Him For Using Journalists To Talk About DBH, Bobby Nasution Denies It
MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution responded to the statement by the Governor of North Sumatra (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi and a number of other parties regarding the polemic of paying the revenue-sharing tax (DBH).
Governor Edy previously poked Bobby because he was keen to talk about DBH payments. According to Governor Edy, Bobby should not discuss DBH payments with journalists.
"This is said, I read (news), it was said this, there were also observers who said they wanted to run for governor at a distance, I said," said Bobby Nasution, Thursday, July 1.
"I kept saying I gathered the media to talk about DBH, no," he continued.
Bobby Nasution explained that the polemic about the DBH began when he received a visit from members of the North Sumatra DPRD from the Medan Dapil.
"Members of the provincial DPRD came to the city office to convey what we could hear from Medan to North Sumatra Province, we conveyed that," he said.
Then, said Bobby Nasution, the problem resurfaced when he answered a question from the PDI-P faction of the Medan DPRD who asked about the low realization of regional original revenue (PAD) in 2021.
"The Medan City Government reports to the Medan DPRD, because the Medan DPRD asked why the PAD achievement was so low in 2020. Yes, we explained it because one of the DBH that should be paid in 2020 has not been paid," added Bobby.
According to Bobby, he is obliged to answer questions from the Medan DPRD.
"We are obliged to answer the DPRD's questions, we answer because in 2020, we did not receive the DBH payment that should be paid for the current month," he said.
Meanwhile, for the 2021 DBH, Bobby Nasution admitted that the Medan City Government had received it in the first semester. Bobby emphasized that his party only asked for DBH payments to be made in the current month.
"In 2021 for the first semester, it has been received, from Rp. 407 billion, Rp. 180 billion has been received. We said that if it could run for the month, that would be it," he said.
Because of that, Bobby Nasution asked that the DBH issue be no longer in question. Bobby also emphasized that he had never gathered the media to talk about DBH.
"So don't say we are asking the province, saying the province has a debt, because that's what the DPRD asked. I've never gathered the media just to talk about it," he said.
Previously, Governor Edy flicked and asked Mayor Bobby not to use journalists when discussing DBH. Governor Edy said there was a misunderstanding when talking to journalists
"So, if it's like that, it's better not to use journalists. If you use journalists, you will misunderstand," said Governor Edy, Thursday, June 24.
According to Edy, the distribution of DBH is carried out by the North Sumatra Provincial Government every quarter. Edy said that problems often arise in the fourth quarter.
"Once he enters at the end of the quarter, it's a year change. The year change in taxation work doesn't come immediately, yes, it's time, it's not. There are processes for implementing supervision in taxation," he explained.
