Emergency PPKM, Restaurants And Warkop In East Java Must Close At 5 PM
SURABAYA - Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) will be implemented in 11 districts/cities in East Java. One of the points is the limitation of operating hours for restaurants, coffee shops, food stalls until 17.00 WIB.
"After crossing that limit, restaurants can only accept take-away orders until 21.00 WIB," said Commander of the V/Brawijaya Regional Military Command, Maj. Gen. Suharyanto, in his official statement, Thursday, July 1.
Suharyanto said the East Java Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkompimda) is currently still discussing the technicalities of Emergency PPKM which will be implemented on Saturday, July 3. Later, he said, the Emergency PPKM rules will be applied in 11 regions in East Java.
"This applies in every region, including in East Java. Then we carry out initial checks to see and socialize first, don't wait until after it is announced by the government, the people of East Java will be surprised," he said
Suharyanto asked the public to understand the existence of the Emergency PPKM policy. Because this policy will be implemented for two weeks starting July 3-7. He hoped that the Emergency PPKM could reduce the rate of COVID-19 cases in Java-Bali, especially East Java.
"Hopefully in the next two weeks, it can drop drastically. Now the next step after the 21st will be determined by the government," he said.
However, the rules regarding Emergency PPKM in East Java have not been officially published. The central government previously announced the regions or districts/cities to which the policy would apply.
Specifically for East Java, 11 regions will be implemented, namely Tulungagung, Sidoarjo, Madiun, Lamongan, Surabaya City, Mojokerto City, Malang City, Madiun City, Kediri City, Blitar City, and Batu City.
