Couple In Bali Breaking ATM Using Welding Equipment, CCTV Sprayed By Pilox So It's Not Recorded
BADUNG - A husband and wife pair with the initials ABC and his wife GAS broke into an ATM machine owned by a bank in Badung, Bali. Both were arrested by the police.
"There is also a motive for the two perpetrators to do this because of economic motives because they are stuck in debt in various places," said Head of the Badung Police Public Relations Division Iptu Ketut Oka Bawa, Thursday, July 1.
The ATM machine burglary occurred on Tuesday, June 29 in the early hours of the morning at the Bali BPD office, Mengwi, Badung. This incident was known to the Head of the BPD Bali Assets Division who received information on the movements of suspicious people through CCTV footage.
When checked at the location, the ATM machine was already open. There are some parts that look like prying and welding. LPG gas cylinders were also found.
"For this incident, the complainant suffered a loss of Rp. 106,000,000 and reported it to the Badung Police," he added.
From this report, the police investigated the perpetrators and made arrests in Jembrana. The perpetrator admitted to breaking into the BPD Bali ATM machine with his wife.
"The modus operandi is breaking into by using a welding tool to break into an ATM machine," said Iptu Oka.
The evidence was secured by the police, namely crowbars, gas cylinders, welding equipment to small oxygen cylinders. According to the police, the wife of the perpetrator is in charge of monitoring the situation. While her husband in action first sprayed pilox paint on the CCTV.
