Fortnite Launches Two Anti-Cheats At Once, Repels Cheaters
JAKARTA - In a game, cheats or cheats are often found. But of course not worth emulating. To dispel that, the game developer Fortnite has just launched an anti-cheat in its game, Epic Games.
Through its official website, Thursday, July 1, Epic Games admitted that it now has two anti-cheat systems at once, namely Easy Anti Cheat and BattlEye. Fortnite also does not hesitate to players if they are caught cheating then they will be punished or banned.
Fortnite said that they will not pardon players who use illegal programs. Because, these cheaters destroy the essence of playing in the game, and make people who play fairly and competitively uncomfortable.
Epic Games is serious about eradicating the use of cheats. Previously, the company said it would block phones detected using the illegal APK installer file of the official Fortnite game for good.
Device identification can occur because Epic Games can see the unique identifier of the phone which is permanent and cannot be changed by the user, such as the IMEI number.
Not long ago, Epic Games also sued a well-known Youtuber who sold cheats such as aimbots to their subscribers. The company then asked these YouTubers to remove videos promoting the software because such programs are prohibited from running in the game owned by Fortnite.
Not only free anti-cheat that other developers have access to, Epic Games has also launched a voice chat service. This service is offered as part of the studio's Epic Online Services suite, which can be used with any game engine.
Both support Windows, Mac, Linux, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. The new voice chat service is cross-platform and supports one-on-one chat during gameplay.
When using the service, voice data is passed through Epic's back-end servers, and the technology takes care of all scaling and quality features of the service. Epic says that its technology has been integrated and battle-tested in Fortnite, which provides assurance that it can handle millions of players at once.
