Jokowi: Police Must Strengthen Institutional Management

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo said that the National Police must fix and strengthen institutional management in order to face the challenges of the times and increasingly complex demands.

"In order to face the challenges of the times and the demands of an increasingly complex society, the National Police must fix and strengthen its institutional management," said the President during the 75th anniversary of Bhayangkara Day at the State Palace, Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Thursday, July 1.

The President also said that the National Police must comprehensively fix planning policies, organizing policies, budgeting policies as well as monitoring and evaluation, by utilizing the latest science and technology to support a modern Polri.

The President congratulated the 75th anniversary of Bhayangkara Day and expressed his highest appreciation for the hard work of the Indonesian National Police in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The President conveyed that he was very aware of the synergy between the National Police and the TNI, health workers, ministries/agencies and local governments in dealing with the pandemic.

The President asked the Police to continue to actively support government policies in handling COVID-19.

"Once again I express my highest appreciation," said the President.
