Supporting The Postponement Of Liga 1, Arema FC Ready To Help The Government Run A Mass Vaccination Program
JAKARTA - The management of Arema FC considers the postponement of the Liga 1 competition as an effort to reduce the rate of addition of positive COVID-19 confirmed cases in Indonesia.
Arema FC media staff Sudarmaji in Malang City, Wednesday, said that Singo Edan's management responded wisely to the decision to postpone the 2021 Liga 1, which was made by PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB).
"The option to postpone until the end of July 2021 is a form of joint effort between clubs and elements of society to suppress the rate of increase in COVID-19 cases in Indonesia," said Sudarmaji as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 30.
According to him, in an effort to suppress the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia, Arema FC stated that they were ready to assist the government in carrying out the COVID-19 vaccination program for the community.
Sudarmaji added that the efforts made by Arema FC were in line with PT LIB's statement which stated that the Liga 1 competition would be held on 23 or 30 July 2021 on the condition that the number of COVID-19 in Indonesia decreased.
"As a form of effort that we can do is to fully support the government which will hold a mass vaccine program," he said.
In the future, Sudarmaji continued, Arema FC hopes that the All Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) and PT LIB will be able to open the widest possible access to vaccines for all Indonesian football players involved in the competition.
"We encourage PSSI and PT LIB to open access to vaccines for football players, be it players, officials, or parties involved in the competition," he added.
According to Sudarmaji, the momentum of the 2021 Liga 1 competition is expected to be one of the media for the vaccination campaign, in an effort to convince the public that vaccination is safe, and is one of the steps to suppress the spread of COVID-19.
"The momentum of the 2021 Liga 1 must also be greeted with a vaccination campaign, this is at the same time to convince the public that the vaccine is safe, and serves to suppress the spread of COVID-19," he said.
However, he reminded, after undergoing the COVID-19 vaccination, the other most important thing is to continue to apply a new, healthier lifestyle, by implementing the health protocol for handling COVID-19.
For information, Arema FC has been actively involved in the Malang United Against Corona (MBLC) mass movement which is intensively socializing the implementation of health protocols, and efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
