Police 'Owl' Troops Arrest 2 Suspected Terrorists In Jakarta, Confiscated Evidence Makes Goosebumps

JAKARTA - Densus 88 Anti-terror has arrested two suspected terrorists of the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network in the Jakarta area. They are said to have received a package containing firearms (senpi) from another suspected terrorist in Bangka Belitung.

"Densus 88 Anti-terror Police of the DKI Jakarta Regional Task Force in collaboration with the Bangka Belitung Regional Task Force have arrested 2 suspected terrorists, their names are DS and SY," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Wednesday, June 30.

"His role is to receive parcels from US brothers sent from Bangka Belitung Province," he continued.

Based on the examination of the troops bearing the 'owl' symbol, the package received by the two suspected terrorists contained several rifles and ammunition. In fact, one of them is a long-barreled rifle.

"The goods that were secured were 3 long rifles (barrel) with 120 rounds of ammunition. Then 3 revolver type rifles with 100 rounds of ammunition, two daggers and several other pieces of evidence," said Ramadhan.

The two suspected terrorists, continued Ramadhan, were arrested in different areas. The suspected terrorist DS was arrested in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta. Meanwhile, SY was arrested in Kembangan, West Jakarta.

For now, they have been taken to the Polda Metro Jaya for further investigation. Including, digging up information about the use of these guns.
