KMP Yunicee Drowns In Gilimanuk, 7 People Died
JEMBRANA - As many as 7 people died in the sinking of KMP Yunicee in Gilimanuk waters, Bali. The ship was dragged by the current until it sank.
Basarnas Bali collected data on KMP Yunicee carrying 57 people, namely 13 crew, 41 passengers and 3 canteen staff.
KMP Yunicee disembarked from Ketapang Port, Bayuwangi, East Java, on Tuesday, June 29. However, when approaching Gilimanuk Harbor, the current drifted to the south, tilted and immediately sank.
"The closest team that we have deployed from the Jembrana SAR Post and Buleleng SAR Post will then follow personnel from the Bali Basarnas Office and also the SAR team from Surabaya Basarnas by sea," said Head of the Bali Basarnas Office, Gede Darmada, Wednesday, June 30.
From temporary information, 39 people were rescued, 7 people died, 11 others are still being sought.
"Meanwhile, the death toll data obtained from the joint post at Gilimanuk Harbor, confirmed 7 people namely 5 women and 2 men who were then taken to Gilimanuk Health Center," said Darmada.
