Minister Of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian Gives An Important Message To Families About COVID-19, What Is It?

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian emphasized that families have an important role as the main bulwark for Indonesia to suppress the COVID-19 pandemic.

"If all families obey health protocols, wear masks in appropriate places, such as public spaces and crowds, and avoid crowds, wash their hands diligently, this will have a big impact on national efforts to control COVID-19," Tito said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 29.

Tito said vaccination was also an important government program to deal with COVID-19. By following the vaccination, it is hoped that every community will have antibodies in their immune system.

"So that when exposed to (the new type of corona virus) the antibodies can neutralize the virus in his body," he said.

Tito also explained the benefits of the COVID-19 vaccine, apart from prevention by implementing the 5M (wearing masks, washing hands with soap, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and reducing activities outside the home).

According to him, the government's efforts to suppress the spread of COVID-19 will be difficult to succeed if the community does not take part. Because society is at the forefront of preventing person-to-person transmission.

Therefore, Tito said the family has a central role to deal with COVID-19.

"I hope every family can socialize and implement 5M. At the same time encourage vaccination programs," he said.

So from this step, according to Tito, the pandemic which has many negative impacts can be suppressed through togetherness between the government and the whole community, including families.

Minister of Home Affairs Tito was one of the speakers at the commemoration of the 28th National Family Day held by the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN).

BKKBN also launched a vaccination program for breastfeeding mothers and children aged 12 to 17 years.

Simultaneous vaccination activities were carried out in Bogor City, Sumedang Regency, Makassar City and Pangkal Pingang City, with the aim of accelerating providing protection for breastfeeding mothers and children from COVID-19.
