JAKARTA - The Riau Islands Province COVID-19 Task Force (Kepri) stated that the death toll from COVID-19 in the region had increased by 11 people. This brings the total number of patients who have died from COVID-19 to 547.

Spokesman for the Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Dr. Tjetjep Yudiana, said the number of COVID-19 patients who died in Batam was five, Tanjungpinang was three, Bintan was one, Karimun was one, and the Anambas Islands was one.

He explained that the total number of patients in Riau Islands who died from COVID-19 reached 547 people, spread in Batam 294 people, Tanjungpinang 110 people, Bintan 52 people, Karimun 49 people, Anambas 22 people, Lingga 11 people, and Natuna nine people. .

"The COVID-19 patients who died are still dominated by Batam residents," said Tjetjep Yudiana in Tanjungpinang, reported by Antara, Tuesday, June 29.

The former Head of the Riau Islands Health Office said that the number of recovered patients had increased by 246 to 21,195. Patients who recovered from COVID-19 spread in Batam 11,312 people, Tanjungpinang 3,673 people, Bintan 2,194 people, Karimun 2,055 people, Anambas 888 people, Lingga 435 people, and Natuna 638 people.

The number of residents in Riau Islands who have contracted COVID-19 has increased by 480 people to 25,503 people, spread across Batam 13,493 people, Tanjungpinang 4,645 people, Bintan 2,857 people, Karimun 2,286 people, Anambas 926 people, Lingga 519 people, and Natuna 777 people.

The number of active cases in Riau Islands reached 3,761 people, spread in Batam 1,887 people, Tanjungpinang 862 people, Bintan 611 people, Karimun 182 people, Anambas 16 people, Lingga 73 people, and Natuna 130 people.
