First In Southeast Minahasa, BOS Funds Distributed Non-Cash

JAKARTA - The distribution of School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds in Southeast Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi, began using a new method, namely non-cash transactions.

"Currently, the use or utilization of BOS funds has been carried out using a non-cash system," said Head of the Southeast Minahasa Regency Education Office Ascke Benu in Ratahan, reported by Antara, Monday, June 28.

He revealed that the system was the first to be implemented by the local government in North Sulawesi.

"This is also a model for other regions in North Sulawesi. The implementation of the program is our commitment so that there is no misappropriation of BOS funds," he explained.

According to Ascke, each beneficiary of the BOS funds is immediately received, and transferred to the student's account or a third party.

Meanwhile, the Southeast Minahasa BOS Fund Manager, Felda Tombokan, revealed that the budget prepared for 2021 amounts to Rp. 15 billion.

The budget is earmarked for 96 Elementary Schools (SD) amounting to IDR 8 billion, while 41 Junior High Schools (SMP) get IDR 7 billion.

"The amount that will be received by each school is different, depending on the number of students," he explained.

In addition, said Felda, for procurement that will be carried out by schools with BOS funding sources, they are required to use an online system, namely the School Procurement Information System.
