Even Though There Are A Number Of Findings, The BPK Still Gives The WTP Opinion To The Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Chaired By Yasonna Laoly

JAKARTA - The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) provided an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) on the 2020 Financial Report of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham).

This opinion, called BPK, shows that the Financial Statements of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, and the realization of the budget, operations, and changes in equity for the past year in accordance with government accounting standards.

Head of the State Audit I BPK, Hendra Susanto, said that the WTP opinion is not a gift but an achievement that must be maintained and improved for the future.

"The achievements and hard work of all levels of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in managing and accounting for state finances that are managed must run continuously," he said in the submission of the LHP LK of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights as released by the official website, Monday, June 28.

Hendra added that despite receiving the WTP opinion, BPK still found weaknesses in the SPI and problems of non-compliance with laws and regulations that needed to be improved.

"Weaknesses of the SPI that are of concern include the lack of orderly cash administration, the management of inventory and intangible assets in several work units of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, and the security of fixed assets of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights is not fully adequate," he said.

Then, it was also stated that BPK found non-compliance with the provisions of the legislation in the management of state finances. The non-compliance is that there is an overpayment for non-compliance with the specifications of goods, less volume of work in the realization of goods expenditure and capital expenditure for the 2020 period in several work units of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

Hendra ensured that before the LHP was issued, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights had followed up on the recommendations of the examination findings.

"BPK appreciates several work units that have followed up on the findings of the BPK examination while the examination was still ongoing," he said.

"BPK hopes that some of the existing weaknesses will receive attention from all leaders of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to be followed up immediately in accordance with applicable regulations. So that in the coming year, the opinion on the financial statements of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights can be maintained," concluded Hendra.
