Landslide In Simalungun Overwrites Car, 3 People Killed
MEDAN - A landslide occurred on Jalan Josep Sinaga, Parapat Village, District, Simalungun, North Sumatra. A landslide hit the car and killed 3 people.
"By the time we found, there were 3 victims (killed), we had taken them to Parapat Hospital," said Simalungun Police Chief AKBP Agus Waluyo, Monday, June 28.
According to Agus, the victims consisted of 2 passengers in the Xenia car who happened to be passing by at the scene.
"The car contained 4 people, but from our findings in the field there were 2 passengers, a boy and a girl, we are still looking for their identities," he said.
In addition, the landslide also hit a motorcyclist.
"One (other) adult male riding a black Yamaha Jupiter MX motorcycle," said Agus.
Currently, a joint team consisting of the TNI and Polri continues to search the landslide pile with heavy equipment. Officers suspect that there are more victims who were hit by the landslide.
"We still suspect that there are other victims in the avalanche," said Agus.
While related to the cause of the landslide, Agus could not be sure. They are still conducting an investigation.
"We are still investigating, I ask for time because this is a new incident and our members are still in the field," said Agus.
