South Jakarta Police Denies Summoning And Establishing Nikita Mirzani As A Suspect
JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Metro Police denies issuing an examination letter against artist Nikita Mirzani as well as naming a suspect in a case of alleged defamation through electronic media.
"I myself have observed that it has not been officially registered. So, I also did not confirm the letter," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police Commissioner Achmad Akbar in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Monday, June 28.
He has also checked the issuance of the letter at the South Jakarta Police and it is confirmed that he did not issue the letter.
"I have cross-checked internally, we don't have one yet," he added.
Previously, a photo of a summons letter was circulated for Nikita Mirzani to be heard on Monday, June 21 at the South Jakarta Metro Police at 14.00 WIB.
The letter also stated that Nikita Mirzani was a suspect in the case of defamation through electronic media.
The letter was signed by the former Head of the South Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police Jimmy Christian Samma, who has now been transferred to the Head of the Central Tapanuli Police.
However, the photo of the letter does not yet have the usual letter number as proof of registration.
Meanwhile, related to the case that dragged the artist, Achmad said that the case was still being investigated by investigators and there was no title case for determining the suspect.
The alleged case of defamation through electronic media was reported by Indra Tarigan in March 2019 at the Polda Metro Jaya and transferred to the Polres Metro South Jakarta.
"We emphasize that our process is still ongoing and there is no stage of determining the suspect," he said.
