H-4 Lebaran, 306 Thousand Vehicles Leave Jakarta During PSBB

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga recorded 306,682 vehicles leaving Jakarta up to 4 days before Eid Al-Fitr. This recording was carried out from D-7 Eid or the period 17-20 May 2020.

Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head, Dwimawan Heru, said vehicles leaving Jakarta through the east, west and south. Even though the recorded numbers look a lot, it turns out that this figure has decreased by 59 percent when compared to the Lebaran period in 2019.

"The distribution of traffic in the three directions is 40 percent from the east, 35 percent from the west and 25 percent from the south," Heru said in a statement received by VOI, Thursday, May 21.

To the east, traffic outside Jakarta is the contribution of two toll gates (GT) to replace the Cikarang Utama GT, namely the Cikampek Utama GT for road users to the Trans Java Toll Road and the Kalihurip Utama GT for road users to the Cipularang-Padaleunyi Toll Road.

"The total number of vehicles passing towards the East is 121,608 vehicles, a decrease of 73 percent from Lebaran 2019," said Heru.

In details, GT Cikampek Utama 1 vehicles decreased by 79 percent with a total of 68,316. GT Kalihurip Utama 1 vehicles decreased by 56 percent with a total of 53,292.

In the west direction, Jasa Marga recorded that the number of vehicles leaving Jakarta via GT Cikupa, Merak-Tangerang Toll Road was 107,927 vehicles. This figure has decreased by 42 percent from Lebaran 2019.

Then in the south, the number of vehicles leaving Jakarta from the South or via the Ciawi GT Jagorawi Toll Road is 77,147 vehicles, a decrease of 30 percent from Lebaran in 2019.

"Jasa Marga urges toll road users to actively participate in preventing the transmission of COVID-19, by not going home and not having a picnic in Lebaran 2020.
