Principal In Ternate Reportedly Skipping 6 Months, City Government Steps In
JAKARTA - A school principal and teacher in Ternate, North Maluku is reported to be lazy to teach. Even the principal had not come to school for six months, aka skipping school.
This is known based on a report received by the City Government (Pemkot) of Ternate, North Maluku (Malut). For this incident, the City Government will call the principal and the teacher.
"We got a number of problems that occurred, especially in terms of education in the three outermost island sub-districts, namely Hiri Island, Batang Dua, and Moti District. The City Government immediately summoned the relevant agencies to follow up on this," said Deputy Mayor (Wawali) of Ternate City, Jasri Usman in Ternate, reported by Antara, Monday, June 28.
Jasri stated that regarding the lack of teaching staff (teachers) in the outermost sub-districts of Ternate, the Education Office would evaluate it.
"I will instruct the head of the education office to later summon teachers who are known to be inactive in teaching at schools in three sub-districts of the island," he said.
Based on the information gathered, there are elementary schools in Moti whose teachers are not present, and even the principal who has not attended school for 6 months, so that later the Mayor of Ternate immediately summoned the principal.
In addition, said Wawali, the scheme for the placement of teachers in both elementary and junior high schools will be reorganized later. According to him, the principle of the teacher must be re-instilled, which must be willing to be placed anywhere.
"However, sometimes our teachers don't realize it in carrying out their duties, because they often leave their duties," said the Vice Mayor.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, Jasri himself explicitly gave warnings to teachers, even school principals who actually did not have attention and care for schools and education.
"By not coming for months, I don't think it has any concern for the school, we will immediately contact the head of education for follow-up," he said.
