Legitimate! Super Air Jet Airlines Officially Pockets Operational Permit From The Ministry Of Transportation

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation reports that it has completed the certification process for the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) application from the Super Air Jet (SAJ) airline. Meanwhile, the type of aircraft that passed the permit from the transportation authority was the Airbus A320.

Director General of Civil Aviation Novie Riyanto said that through the fulfillment of these requirements, Super Air Jet had a previous permit, namely a Scheduled Commercial Air Transport Business License (SIUAU-NB) with SIUAU/NB-036 Number, which was issued on September 17, 2020.

"We have carried out the certification process for the issuance of the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) based on an application letter from the SAJ since September 30, 2020," he said in a press statement as quoted on Sunday, June 27.

Novie added, the certification process refers to ICAO provisions and applicable aviation regulations in Indonesia which is carried out through 5 stages or phases, namely Pre Application, Formal Application, Document Compliance, Demonstration & Inspection, and Certification.

"All these stages have been certified for nine months," he said at the signing of the AOC.

Furthermore, Novie Riyanto said that SAJ had fulfilled all the requirements of AOC holders.

"With the completion of all stages of certification for SAJ, SAJ is declared to have fulfilled all technical and safety requirements as an Air Operator Certificate holder", he said.

To note, SAJ is the first Air Operator Certificate holder to be certified after the issuance of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation and Presidential Regulation Number 5 of 2021 concerning Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing.

Thus, the requirements issued by the AOC have been fulfilled, namely the minimum number of aircraft operated is 3 (three) aircraft.

"SAJ has fulfilled the requirements by operating 3 A320 aircraft, provided that 1 is owned and 2 is in control," he said.

Separately, the Director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operations at the Ministry of Transportation Dadun Kohar said that the Super Air Jet had met the requirements for the issuance of the AOC.

"To complete the requirements, Super Air Jet also cooperates with aircraft maintenance with PT. Batam Teknik as the holder of the Approved Maintenance Organization, where one of its abilities is to carry out maintenance of the A320 aircraft," he said.

Dadun added that the entire process of forming this new airline candidate went through a long procedure and was in accordance with the provisions of the applicable legislation.

"We make sure that all provisions for the operation of air transportation and the issuance of AOC are carried out in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws. Likewise with a series of other requirements that must be met by Super Air Jet, "explained Dadun.
