Positive Cases Of COVID-19 Soared Drastically, Epidemiologist Suggests WFH 100 Percent Over The Week
JAKARTA - Epidemiologist from the University of Indonesia (UI) Pandu Riono suggested all formal workers to work from home or work from home (WFH) to deal with the surge in COVID-19 cases. Moreover, recently, positive cases have jumped dramatically.
"I propose temporarily this week all employees or everyone who is paid, private, or government take a week off. WFH first," said Pandu in a discussion program broadcast on YouTube, Sunday, June 27.
Meanwhile, workers in the informal sector are still allowed to work as usual. "Because he runs the economy," he said.
Furthermore, Pandu said that human behavior needs to be limited when a pandemic occurs. The reason, this is one of the two factors for the transmission of COVID-19.
"The dynamics of the transmission of COVID-19 are only two factors that influence. (First, red) human behavior and secondly the characteristics of the virus," he said.
So, the community needs to move together in a disciplined manner to carry out restrictions to carry out health protocols for washing hands, using masks, and maintaining distance or 3M.
If this is carried out properly and with discipline, he believes COVID-19 can be controlled even though many people have not received the vaccination.
"Actually, even without this vaccine, we can already control it. The vaccine is only to help, reduce restrictions due to this activity," said Pandu.
Previously reported, COVID-19 cases are currently increasing after the Eid 1442 Hijri holiday. In fact, data from the Ministry of Health as of Saturday, June 26, 2021, recorded the addition of 21,095 new cases.
In suppressing this contagion, the government then decided to thicken or strengthen the Implementation of Micro Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). This policy was taken because it is considered the most appropriate because in its implementation it will not disrupt the community's economy.
