Hendra Subrata Elderly Fugitive Changes Identity On ID Card, Converts Religion From Christianity To Islam
JAKARTA - The fugitive convicted of attempted murder Hendra Subrata (81) alias Anyi was repatriated from Singapore to Jakarta after 10 years of running away. In an exposure at the Attorney General's Office, Saturday, June 26, it was revealed that he had changed his identity card and religion.
Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak said Hendra Subrata previously had a DKI Jakarta Identity Card (KTP).
His place of birth is in Jakarta, May 4, 1940 and his address is Jalan Cambodia No. 1 RT 010/RW 001, Jati Pulo Village, Palmerah, West Jakarta, Christian religion and private occupation.
When applying for a passport extension at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, suspicions were found, Hendra used an ID card in the name of Endang Rifai which was issued by the Banten Province, Tangerang Regency to be exact.
The difference is in the Banten Province ID card, Leonard said as reported by Antara, the name in question is Endang Rifai, who was originally Hendra Subrata with his original birthplace in Jakarta.
In the Banten Province ID card, the perpetrator was written as born in Tangerang on June 6, 1948 and his religion which was originally Christian changed to Islam. "So the person in question (Hendra Subrata alias Endang Rifai-ed) changed his name and changed his identity with a Tangerang ID card," said Leonard.
This change in the identity of Hendra Subrata caused his deportation process to be different from that of Adelin Lis. Adelin Lis is categorized as a high-level fugitive, arrested by the Singapore Immigration for using a fake passport in the name of Hendro Leonardi.
In fact, the convict of the illegal logging case underwent a trial and was sentenced to a fine of 14,000 Singapore dollars or around Rp. 114 million.
"That Adelin Lis has a legal process because it was carried out by the Immigration of Singapore and was included in the legal process, but Hendra Subrata extended his passport at the Indonesian Embassy and was handled by the Indonesian Immigration in Singapore, that's the difference, and then in the legal process the convict Adelin Lis was accompanied by a lawyer A trial was held with the Singapore prosecutor, if Hendra Subrata there are no legal problems in Singapore," said Leonard.
Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence Sunarta said that Hendra Subrata's deportation was carried out thanks to the accuracy and seriousness of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore in following up on suspicions and findings of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore's immigration function regarding the identity of an Indonesian citizen's passport in the name of Endang Rifai and its similarity with the data of an Indonesian citizen on behalf of Hendra Subrata.
"Effective internal cooperation and coordination with the Directorate General of Immigration, the Attorney General's Office and the National Police Headquarters as well as each attaching function that are running smoothly make identification and repatriation easier," said Sunarta.
Hendra Subrata was repatriated to Jakarta using a Garuda Indonesia flight with flight number GA 837, departing from Singapore at 18.45 local time.
The plane carrying the fugitive from the West Jakarta State Attorney's Office landed at Soekarno-Hatta Airport at around 19.40 WIB.
The convict Hendra Subrata was immediately taken to the Attorney General's Office for further bodily execution at the Salemba Detention Center of the Attorney General's Office. Previously underwent health checks and isolation according to the COVID-19 health protocol.
Hendra Subrata's repatriation received special treatment because of his old age. Although he can walk, the 81-year-old uses a cane when standing, and is carried in a wheelchair.
The Attorney General's Office also prepared an ambulance and health workers to escort Hendra Subrata's journey from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to the Attorney General's Office and to the Salemba Rutan. Based on the cassation of the Supreme Court's decision, Hendra Subrata was sentenced to four years in prison as stipulated in Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 53 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
Hendra Subrata attempted to kill the victim, Herwanto Wibobo, who was none other than his business partner in 2009.
