Angry At Immigration, Identity Of 81-Year-Old Elderly Revealed: Apparently Has Been Fugitive For 10 Years!
JAKARTA - After 10 years missing since being sentenced to four years by the West Jakarta District Court Judge for the attempted murder case, the convict Hendra Subrata, who is now 81 years old, arrived in Jakarta on the evening of Saturday, June 26.
Hendra Subrata alias Anyi was flown from Singapore using a Garuda Indonesia aircraft with flight number GA 837 at 18.45 WIB. From the pictures circulating on the internet, Hendra Subrata was taken in a wheelchair to the plane cabin.
Arriving in Jakarta, Hendra Subrata then underwent a confinement sentence for the attempted murder case of Hermanto Wibowo, who was none other than his business partner.
The Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) at the Attorney General's Office, Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak, said that Hendra Subrata alias Anyi is a fugitive on the West Jakarta District Attorney's Wanted List (DPO).
"Currently in Singapore he is using a passport in the name of Endang Rifai," Leonard said as quoted by Antara. Hendra Subrata's presence was detected in Singapore when he was about to extend his passport in February 2021 at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore.
However, at that time Hendra had changed his identity by using a passport in the name of Endang Rifai.
During the interview and file research, the Immigration Attache at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore was suspicious of Endang Rifai. Plus the person concerned began to get restless and angry when the interview process lasted a long time.
The officer tried to trace it by asking his wife's name, because Hendra admitted that he had to hurry back to take care of his sick wife.
When the Immigration Attaché officer asked what his wife's name was, Hendra mentioned Linawaty Widjaja's name. From the search of the Immigration Attache officer, Linawaty Widjaja's name was found, but the name of her husband was not Endang Rifai but Hendra Subrata.
The results of a recheck carried out by the Immigration Attache and Police Attache with the Directorate General of Immigration and the Indonesian Police found that Endang Rifai was Hendra Subrata who had been a DPO for 10 years.
The Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia on February 19, 2021 has communicated and requested the assistance of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Singapore in order to assist in the return of fugitive convict Hendra Subrata alias Anyi alias Endang Rifai to Indonesia.
"Initially it was planned that the repatriation of DPO Hendra Subrata was carried out simultaneously with the repatriation of fugitive convict Adelin Lis using a special plane that had been prepared by the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia (charter plane)," said Leonard.
However, because Adelin Lis's repatriation was not allowed to use the plane rented by the Attorney General's Office, the two of them were sent back separately.
The difference is that Hendra Subrata was more cooperative than Adelin Lis when he was sent home according to the schedule for his return from the Attorney General's Office.
The treatment for repatriation of Singapore Immigration to Hendra is relatively the same. He departed from the ICA office in Kallang and immediately got on the plane. The check-in process is carried out by the previous ICA officer.
The West Jakarta District Court sentenced Hendra to four years in prison in 2010. The appeal and cassation attempt was rejected. When he was about to be executed according to the Supreme Court's cassation decision, he fled.
Polda Metro Jaya issued a list of wanted people from the West Jakarta District Attorney on September 28, 2011. Hendra has been missing for 10 years and has never served his sentence.
Upon arrival in Indonesia, Hendra Subrata will serve a four-year criminal sentence as determined by the West Jakarta District Court.
