Unscrupulous Police In Sorong Papua Allegedly Burned His Wife To Death
JAKARTA - An individual member of the police with the initials PS with the rank of Bripka in Sorong, West Papua Province is suspected of burning his wife to death.
Sorong City Police Chief AKBP Ary Nyoto Setiawan confirmed the incident when confirmed. The incident occurred on June 22, 2021, in the Doom Village, Sorong Islands District.
He said that the BP victim, the wife of the police officer, was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, but could not be saved.
According to him, the police received a report from the victim's family that the victim's death was not natural, so it was followed up.
He suspects that there are family problems or problems which then lead to abuse and death.
"We have conducted an investigation at the scene. The perpetrators in this case will be dealt with firmly," said Ary Nyoto as quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 24.
The police chief confirmed that the PS police officers will undergo a code of ethics trial, and if found guilty, they will automatically be dishonorably discharged and undergo a legal process.
He added that currently the member of the PS police has been detained and development is being carried out. If it is found that there is an element of planning in the persecution, strict action will be taken.
The police chief is also concerned about what happened to the member and his wife. He appealed to the families of the victims left behind to fully hand over the case to the police.
"We do not know for sure PS's motive for burning the house and his wife, because the police are still developing it. However, the temporary suspicion is related to family economic problems," said the Sorong City Police Chief.
