BANYUWANGI - The number of COVID-19 cases in Banyuwangi has soared. Banyuwangi has even become the highest daily contributor to COVID-19 cases in East Java. On Wednesday, June 23, as many as 79 residents in Banyuwangi were confirmed positive for COVID-19.
"It was announced that on June 23 until now we have contributed number 1 positive cases in East Java with 79 new cases," said Deputy Head of the COVID-19 Task Force Lt. Col. Yuli Eko Purwanto, after the meeting for the submission of circulars regarding restrictions on community activities, Thursday, 24 Jni.
Yuli asked all parties to work together to put the brakes on the COVID-19 case in Banyuwangi.
"We are also concerned that we do not lose our families and everything because of the many positive confirmations," he said.
The COVID-19 Task Force has issued a Circular regarding restrictions on community activities in order to control the spread of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani said the high number of COVID-19 cases in Banyuwangi was due to the emergence of a number of clusters of COVID-19 transmission. This is due to mobilization and crowds.
