Noting The Citizens' Disappointment Tag About The BPJS Fee Increase

JAKARTA - The government will increase the Social Security Administration (BPJS) contribution by 100 percent on October 24. This policy will take effect on January 1, 2020. The government considers this policy as a solution to cover the budget deficit.

The total number of tweets related to the increase in the BPJS for 3 weeks, since it was announced, was 59,976 tweets. From Netray's data, negative sentiment dominated the majority of warganet's tweets regarding the BPJS in this period. Of the 59,976 tweets related to this topic, 28,384 of them were tweets with negative sentiment.

October 30: #BPJSM Misery

The hashtag #BPJSMenyengsarakan rose on October 30, 2019 with a total of 1,939 tweets dominated by negative sentiment. The hashtag rises between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. The hashtag #BPJSMenyengsarakan was welcomed by netizens so that it peaked on October 30 with a total of 1,031 tweets a day.

Most of the netizens were disappointed with President Jokowi's decision to increase the BPJS contribution. Through this hashtag, netizens want to voice that the BPJS which is supposed to guarantee the welfare of the people is actually suffering with the fees it charges.

October 31st: #BPJSDebtCollector

After raising the hashtag BPJS torment on October 30, netizens raised the hashtag #BPJSDebtCollector the next day. The hashtag #BPJSDebtCollector rose on October 31, 2019, dominated by negative sentiment. The hashtag #BPJSMenyusahkanRakyat rose on November 2, dominated by negative sentiments. But the peak of the tweet with the hashtag occurred on November 3. The hashtag #BPJSMenyusahkanRakyat started climbing on Twitter between 13.00-14.00. The hashtag #BPJSMenyusahkanRakyat peaked on November 3, 2019 with negative dominance.

Through this hashtag, netizens want to question President Jokowi's policy in increasing BPJS fees because there are still many people who live in hardship. In their tweet, Warganet said that the government should ensure that the people do not make it more difficult for the people. Former Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament Fadli Zon also commented on the phenomenon of the BPJS increase by using this hashtag.

From the monitoring of warganet's tweet, they are annoyed because through this increase in BPJS contributions, the people seem to be forced by the government to pay tribute like the old Dutch. Citizens are also upset because the government involves debt collectors as collectors so that the people are willing to pay.
