Breaking Car Windows, Robbers Steal IDR 70 Million In Asahan North Sumatra

MEDAN - A video clip of a robbery with the mode of breaking a car window has gone viral on social media. The robbery of tens of millions of dollars took place in Kisaran City, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra.

The victims named Listyo Ismawadi and Mariani Tanjung were parking their car on Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro. Both are residents of Tanjung Tiram, Batubara Regency.

When Listyo left his Toyota Innova to pick up his wife who was shopping for fruit, the robbers sprang into action.

"Just leaving the car for a while, as soon as I got back, the driver's side car window was broken and the shards were on the seat," said Listyo, Thursday, June 24.

Prior to the incident, the victim had just taken Rp70 million from the bank. The robbery was immediately reported to the police.

"We immediately reported it to the police," said Listyo.

Separately, Asahan Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP Rahmadani said the case was still under police investigation.

"Still under investigation," he said when contacted by VOI.

Currently, said Rahmadani, the police are still asking for information from a number of witnesses.

"We are still asking for statements from witnesses. We will inform you about the progress," said Rahmadani.
