There Is No Plan For Erick Thohir To Invite Sandiaga To Go To BUMN
JAKARTA - State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Minister Erick Thohir answered the question of the possibility of Gerindra Deputy Chairman Sandiaga Uno's entry into the ranks of high-ranking state-owned companies. According to him, it is unlikely that his friend will join BUMN.
"It's not possible (Sandiaga Uno joined BUMN). I think Pak Sandi has positioned himself as a politician," Erick told reporters at the Kemenkopolhukam Office, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta, Thursday, December 5.
Not only that, Erick said it was impossible for Sandiaga to resign from his position as Deputy Head of the Gerindra Party. Moreover, he emphasized, anyone who entered BUMN must relinquish their position in the party.
"If he (Sandiaga Uno) joins BUMN, he will have to resign as Deputy Chairman of Gerindra. Even though he has just joined," he said.
Even though Sandiaga Uno did not join BUMN, the former INASGOC chairman said he often received input from his friend, especially since Sandiaga was also a businessman.
In line with Erick Thohir, some time ago, Sandiaga Uno admitted that he often gave input to his friends regarding the management of BUMN.
One of the suggestions given by the former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta to Erick is that party cadres or party holders may not hold any position in BUMN. The reason is that there is no conflict of interest between state-owned companies and political parties.
In addition, Sandiaga also said that BUMN must be led by those who have more capabilities. "I think that BUMN needs to be managed with the best talents," Sandiaga said in Jakarta on Wednesday, November 20.
