Man In Tulungagung At First Thought To Be Suicide, But This Finding Leads Police To Investigate Alleged Murder
TULUNGAGUNG - The Tulungagung Police Team, East Java, is investigating the alleged murder of a resident of a residential area which was initially thought to be a suicide.
"We are still investigating this case," said Head of the Tulungagung Police Public Relations Subdivision, Iptu Trisakti, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 23.
The suspicion of murder arose because the victim's body was found with stab wounds and cuts on the neck, stomach and chest as well as several scratches on the wrists.
The victim, identified with the initials OS (36), was initially reported to have committed suicide. The reason is, there are no witnesses who saw other people in the victim's house which is located at Patimura Housing Number 4A, Gedangsewu Village, Boyolangu District, Tulungagung.
Witness EP, the victim's brother who first saw OS lying covered in blood, found a kitchen knife 15 cm long, 1.5 cm wide with a black handle and OS's cell phone.
EP admitted that his brother had called his sister who called the ambulance three times in a tone of pain. From that phone call, the witness immediately called the puskesmas to send an ambulance to his sister's house in Patimura Housing.
After that, the witness rushed to the OS house and found his sister lying on the ground covered in blood.
Furthermore, EP took the victim to RSUD dr. Iskak used an ambulance to get help. Unfortunately, when he got help, the victim died at 16:37 WIB. The victim was bleeding profusely. "The victim died while being helped," he said.
"This afternoon we did an autopsy to determine the cause of death of the victim," said Trisakti.
