Wow, The Tokyo Olympic Committee Provides Halal, Vegetarian To Gluten-free Foods,
JAKARTA – The Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia) is optimistic that the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will run smoothly. Not only the match venue, accommodation to the matter of food. Even the committee provides halal, vegetarian and gluten-free food.
The alertness of the organizing committee (TOCOG) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) made NOC Indonesia confident to continue sending contingents to the most prestigious multievents in the world this time.
President of NOC Indonesia Raja Sapta Okto said TOCOG has developed super strict health protocol regulations to ensure the Olympics is a safe place for the contingents who come. These rules are recorded in the Play Book and must be obeyed, one of which is data collection on athlete activities submitted four weeks before departure to periodic tests during the event.
“Despite the outstanding issues, NOC Indonesia believes that Tokyo is able to properly organize this extraordinary Olympics. The strict procedure for health procedures that have been implemented has made us never hesitate to send athletes to the Olympics,” said Okto, Raja Sapta's greeting, Wednesday, June 23.
Tokyo's readiness is increasingly shown in the 30 days leading up to the Olympics. The Athlete Village is certain to be ready to welcome 11,000 athletes from all over the world. The facilities provided are also very good, namely the dining room which is open 24/7 and provides various types of halal, vegetarian, and gluten-free food.
As a form of preventing the spread of Covid-19, TOCOG also provides a Fever Clinic dedicated to athletes who have symptoms and are diagnosed positively. This area is also reserved for those who are in close contact.
“Tokyo anticipates every eventuality. Our athletes are also all in good condition. It should also be remembered that all Indonesian contingents have been vaccinated. God willing, all preparations for Indonesian athletes are in good condition so that they can fight optimally for the Red and White and present medals for Indonesia," added Okto, according to a press release received by VOI.
NOC Indonesia together with the Chef de Mission (CdM) Team led by Rosan P Roeslani are strengthening coordination to prepare the needs of the athletes. Currently, Indonesia has confirmed 28 athletes who will compete in eight sports, namely badminton (11), athletics (2), archery (4), shooting (1), rowing (2), weightlifting (5), surfing ( 1), and swimming (2).
Rosan explained that the preparations for the athletes went smoothly. According to him, Indonesian athletes have entered special preparations, both domestically and abroad. Such as athletics which brought in US coach Harry Marra and shooter VIdya Rafika who was competing in Serbia.
Regardless of the ongoing preparations, Rosan appealed to the administrators and coaches to tighten the process both on and off the field. Moreover, the positive cases of Covid-19 in Jakarta are increasing.
“Let's monitor our athletes who will appear in the Olympics even more closely. At the same time tightening health protocols. Because if our athletes are exposed to Covid-19, it will be very unfortunate," said Rosan.
