COVID-19 Update As Of June 23: Getting Crazier, New Case Record Is 15,308 Positive People
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today, Wednesday 23 June. A total of 141,187 specimens were examined. As a result, there were 15,308 new positive cases of COVID-19.
Today's new cases are the highest number during the pandemic. Previously, the most daily COVID-19 cases occurred on June 21 with 14,536 cases.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 2,033,421 people and 160,524 active cases", said Ministry of Health data, Wednesday, June 23.
Today's recovered cases increased by 7,167 cases, bringing the total to 1,817,303 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 303 people and a total of 55,594 people.
The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 4,693 cases and a total of 486,957 cases. Followed by West Java which has 2,910 new cases with a total of 353,629 cases. Central Java has 2,595 new cases and a total of 235,434. Then, East Java has 873 new cases and a total of 165,886 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to Central Java with an additional 2,032 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,191 recovered cases, West Java with an increase of 1,030 recovered cases, and East Java with an increase of 422 recovered cases.
No province has reported any new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 19,005.853.
"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 27.57 percent", he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 124,022 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have had COVID-19 cases.
Furthermore, currently, 24,358,856 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 12,640,041 the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,049 people.
