Anji Gets Rehabilitation Recommendation, But Legal Process Goes On

JAKARTA - Musician Erdian Aji Prihartanto alias Anji has received permission to undergo rehabilitation for marijuana abuse cases. The permit was obtained after the Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) conducted an assessment.

"He has received a recommendation for rehabilitation," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ady Wibowo to reporters, Wednesday, June 23.

Although BNNP allowed Anji to undergo rehabilitation, West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Head AKBP Ronaldo Maradona said the former vocalist of the Drive band was still in detention.

The rehabilitation process will only be carried out after all documents are signed. After that, Anji will be taken to the rehabilitation center.

"For now, we are still detained at the Resort Police. Later, a letter will be made which refers to the results of the rehabilitation recommendation from the BNNP, then it can be taken," he said.

Ronaldo emphasized that even though Anji received a rehabilitation permit, the criminal legal process did not automatically stop. All those who violate must undergo a legal process in accordance with the rules.

"The legal process continues," he said.

Anji was previously arrested at one of his music studios in the Cibubur area, East Jakarta, Friday, June 11.

From the results of the examination, the police said that Anji had been consuming marijuana for a long time. Anji admitted to consuming marijuana since the end of 2020.

In this case, Erdian Aji Prihartanto alias Anji was charged with Article 111 article 127 of the Republic of Indonesia Law number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
