Pengandaran Shaken By Earthquake No Tsunami Potential
JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 shook the district of Pengandaran and its surroundings on Tuesday, May 19. Reportedly the earthquake occurred for one minute.
Based on reports from the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), this earthquake occurred at 17.00 WIB at 8.14 South Latitude (LS), and 107.89 East Longitude (BT) in the Southwest of Pangandaran Regency.
The quake with a depth of 10 kilometers (Km) reportedly made the surrounding community scatter. According to the BMKG report, this earthquake had no potential for a tsunami. So that people are advised not to panic.
"There is no potential for a tsunami," he was quoted as saying on the @infoBMKG twitter page.

However, residents are asked to remain vigilant in anticipation of aftershocks. This is because BMKG monitoring results show that there was aftershock activity at 17.20 WIB, once with a magnitude of 4.6 M.
