East Java BNN Destroys Ecstasy And 6.4 Kg Of Shabu Evidence Of Arrest Of 4 Suspects
SURABAYA - The East Java Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) destroyed 203,000 ecstasy pills and 6.4 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. Illegal goods are evidence that drug trafficking in East Java is still rampant in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"This is proof that the Covid-19 pandemic is continuing, the efforts to circulate drug trafficking continue," said the Head of the East Java BNNP, Brigadier General M Aris Purnomo, during the destruction of drugs in his office, Tuesday, June 22.
Aris said that the thousands of drugs were obtained from the arrest of four suspects at three crime scenes (TKP). Aris admitted that he was concerned about the findings, and the suspects used various methods.
"We, the BNNP and other apparatuses, remain consistent, and we continue to be vigilant. Because during this pandemic, criminals and dealers are used to distributing drugs," said Aris
In addition to arresting the suspects, East Java BNNP officers also confiscated a number of pieces of evidence. The suspects are entangled in Article 114 paragraph (2) Subs Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. "The maximum penalty is 12 years in prison or a fine of IDR 800,000," said Aris.
