Member Of The DPR From The PAN Faction To The President Director Of Garuda Indonesia: If You Vote For PKPU, You Just Stop Because The Red And White Must Keep Flying!
JAKARTA - Member of Commission VI of the PAN faction, Nasril Bahar, admitted that he did not agree with the option to save the company through the postponement of debt payment obligations (PKPU). This is because this option carries a big risk, namely the threat that Garuda will go bankrupt if it does not reach an agreement.
"If the Minister (BUMN) offered us there were four options, and two of them were PKPU and liquidation. I asked the President Director to stop. Stop from (the position of) Garuda Director," he said in a hearing with Commission VI DPR , Monday, June 21.
Furthermore, Nasril said the red and white must fly and Garuda must still fly. According to him, Commission VI agreed to support Garuda to continue operating in the country.
"There is no other option. The red and white must fly, and there is no doubt. If you are in doubt, you must ask to stop," he said.
Nasril said that Commission VI would help with the problems faced by Garuda politically. Because of that, Nasril asked for the courage to make the Garuda CEO fly the red and white.
"You said with gentlemen the Red and White Flag must fly, please help us. We (Commission VI) will help, politically we will help," he said.
On the same occasion, Deputy Chairman of Commission VI, Mohammad Haekal, emphasized that whatever happens, Garuda should not be closed like other state-owned airlines. Because, if Garuda closes, the airlines business will be controlled by one group, namely the Lion Group owned by Rusdi Kirana.
"We want to urge the Minister of SOEs whether Garuda wants to die, are we sincere, right? Or form a monopoly, because previously Garuda had a monopoly, we left it to others," he said.
Therefore, Haekal said, there is no other way out than confronting the lessor. According to him, the DPR could help Garuda get out of trouble by providing state capital (PMN). But this cannot be done. Because PMN is not intended to cover past sins.
"There is no way out. Kemplang, kemplang, this is a lessor. Instead of facing employees saying 'we have to fire you', it's better for these lessors to fire the Caucasians who helped with corruption," he said.
