Kominfo Digital Training From Online Courses To Influencers

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemkominfo) has opened a number of training classes in the digital field online, which the public can take advantage of. The training programs provided by Kominfo range from Digital Talent Scholarship, Online Cybercreation classes to MSME business assistance.

As explained by the Minister of Communication and Information Technology (Menkominfo) Johnny G Plate, the three programs are expected to help the productivity of society during the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) period. In addition, the government's efforts to introduce the Pre-Work Card program.

"Apart from these various efforts, the Ministry of Communication and Information also realizes the importance of ensuring the productivity of the community. For this reason, we present 3 programs that can be used by the Indonesian people to hone their knowledge and skills in the digital field online," said Johnny in a press release of the Ministry of Communication and Information, Tuesday, May 19.

Johnny explained that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Communication and Information had provided 40,000 online training opportunities through the 2020 Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS) program. This scholarship program is open to the general public, even for those who have passed formal education.

"Participants who complete this training will receive a certificate of completion, and participants who meet certain criteria will be facilitated to take the global certification test," added Johnny.

It is planned that Kominfo will re-open registration for the second batch of DTS scholarships which will last until the end of May 2020. There are a number of materials to be taught, starting from the development of Android, iOS, Associate Cloud Engineer, Augmented Reality (AR), and Java Script.

Not only that, DTS also has a training program for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and ultra-micro businesses called the Digital Entrepreneurship Academy.

Apart from DTS, there is also training for the National Digital Literacy Movement through the Ministry of Communication and Information's assisted group, namely Siberkreasi, which regularly holds discussions on their social media platforms. Through the hashtag #BerkreasidiIGLive, this platform teaches people to develop skills in social media.

"The learning topics include: photography, videography, journalism, writing techniques, and digital marketing. These programs are targeted to reach 100,000 participants during the pandemic period, ”he explained.

Every week, Siberkreasi will bring together a number of public figures and influencers to discuss digital literacy issues. "The dialogue discussed in #berkreasidiIGLive is mainly about conditions during the pandemic as part of the #DiRumahSaja and #TidakMudik campaigns," added Johnny.

The last Kominfo training program is assistance for micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) to be able to hone foreign language skills in priority tourist areas. In addition, the community will also receive digital marketing training that can increase tourism destinations in their place.

But for now, there are seven super priority destinations that are of concern to the government to be developed, including the Borobudur, Mandalika, Labuan Bajo, Likupang, and Lake Toba areas.
