10 Months Of Unpaid Salary And Allowances, Village Officials Seal The Village Office In Donggala
JAKARTA - A number of officials from Marana Village, Sindue, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi, sealed the local village office, Monday, June 21. This is because since August 1, 2020 until now they have not received salaries or allowances.
The Head of Government Affairs at the Marana Village Office, Taufik, said that they had not received their rights for 10 months and 21 days, or since the inauguration of the new village head.
"This is our form of protest because since the inauguration of the village head on August 1, 2020, we have received nothing," said Taufik as quoted by Antara, Monday, June 21.
Taufik said that his party had tried to report, even though they had gone through several stages to get their rights, but to no avail.
"Lastly, the finances that don't want to disburse the village budget, both DD and ADD, are stuck in finance, the reason they are waiting for orders," said Taufik.
In addition to the protest from village officials, a number of residents also took part in the action by unfurling banners that read the demands for payment of direct cash assistance (BLT) and labor-intensive and COVID-19 handling programs.
"How do we receive salaries and allowances if the account has been burglarized," he said.
According to him, not only salaries and allowances were not paid, but BLT also could not be paid.
Regarding this sealing, there has been no official statement from the village head or district government.
Taufik hopes that the government will immediately resolve the issue of village officials' salaries and BLT as well as other assistance for the community.
"We are like you to the country. Some of our employees who have died have never received anything," he said.
