COVID-19 Update As Of June 21: New Record Of 14,536 New Cases, More Than 2 Million Positive Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 per day. Based on the results of the examination of 84,418 specimens, 14,536 new cases were found.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 2,004,445 people," quoted from Ministry of Health data, Monday, June 21.
Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases increased by 9,233 people, bringing the cumulative total recovered cases to 1,801,761 people.
On the other hand, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 has increased by 294 people. With this addition, the cumulative total of deaths to 54,956 people.
Still referring to the data from the Ministry of Health, for the province with the highest number of additional positive cases, DKI Jakarta. It was recorded that 5,014 people tested positive for COVID-19.
Then, the second province with the most positive cases of COVID-19 was Central Java with 3,252 cases. Furthermore, West Java with 2,719 confirmed cases of positive COVID-19.
DKI Jakarta Province also recorded the highest number of recovered patients. Around 2,835 people have recovered from COVID-19.
In second place, Central Java Province with 2,207 recovered cases. Then, West Java Province with 1,245 cases.
In addition, data from the Ministry of Health states that 18,734,036 specimens have been examined in an accumulation. This figure consists of 15,595,343 specimens examined using the realtime polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method, 187,747 molecular rapid test (TCM) specimens, and 2,950,946 specimens examined for antigen.
"The number of weekly positive results with the number of specimens examined (positivity rate) is 27.57 percent," he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 124,845 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
Currently, 23,265,773 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 12,320,286 the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,049 people.
