Spain-Poland Draw, Jordi Alba: We Are Disappointed With The Result
JAKARTA - A number of Spanish players felt disappointed after a 1-1 draw against Poland. This was conveyed by one of the Spanish players Jordi Alba.
However, Jordi Alba promised to bring his team to the last 16 of Euro 2020. The trick is to beat Slovakia.
"We were out of luck," said Alba. "We've done a lot of things well and we'll turn things around, I'm sure of that," Alba said.
Alba also asked for support from his supporters. "No one can doubt our efforts. People can blame us all they want, but the intensity, the motivation this team has is unquestionable."
"We are disappointed in the result of this match, but there is no choice but to work and I am sure we will see the result. On Wednesday we have another game, a final and we will do everything we can to qualify."
Sweden's win over Slovakia on Friday means Spain are third in the group, with Slovakia also ahead of them after opening with a win over Poland.
"We are used to this kind of pressure," said Alba. "We have to stay calm and I believe in the end the victory will come."
Morata is under pressure after being whistled by his own fans during the draw against Sweden.
He celebrated his goal by hugging coach Luis Enrique.
"I appreciate the trust he (Luis Enrique) and all his team-mates have put in me," said Morata.
"I don't care if I score or not, all I want is to win and we haven't won today."
