JAKARTA - The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, encourages his citizens to take care of their bodies by drinking herbal medicine. Health workers and COVID-19 patients are also encouraged to drink herbal medicine to increase stamina.

This was conveyed by Ganjar when launching the Movement for Drinking Jamu at the Central Java Provincial Government office, Friday, June 18. Ganjar said, drinking herbal medicine is important to increase immunity during the pandemic.

"This movement to drink herbal medicine feels like we really have to gaspol again," said Ganjar in front of participants from all regions in Central Java who took part online, as reported by Djawanews.

In addition to running the industry, in the midst of this pandemic situation, people must also be educated to drink herbal medicine.

“Those who understand about herbal medicine and their benefits can help explain, educate the public that drinking herbal medicine will be healthy. Then all of us will also consume domestic products. Jamune payu, awake dewe is healthy (her herbs are selling, we are healthy)," he said.

Ganjar also encouraged medical and health workers who are currently struggling in handling Covid-19 to drink herbal medicine.

"And that (herbal medicine) if given to friends who are in health workers, in hospitals, who are in the community every day, it will definitely be very useful," he said.

Ganjar also said that some friends in Europe contacted him and asked about spices. Not sure if it's related to Covid-19, but according to Ganjar, the natural wealth it has, the number of empon-empon, the number of raw materials for herbal medicine, the taste must be researched on its own to be used.

"So we can use it well," he said.
