Inga...Inga...Furfish Catching Is Only Done By Registered Small Fishermen

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) stated that the capture of lobster fry or clear seeds (BBL) in Indonesian waters can only be carried out by registered small fishermen.

"Capture of BBL can only be carried out by small fishermen who are registered in the fishing group at the fishing location and have been determined by the provincial service," said Plt. Director General of Fisheries Capture KKP Muhammad Zaini in a release in Jakarta reported by Antara, Saturday, June 19.

Small fishermen who catch fry must apply for registration to the Online Single Submission (OSS) institution, either directly or facilitated by the service.

In addition, he said, the capture of fry must also use environmentally friendly fishing gear.

"Catching lobster clear seeds (puerulus) must use passive and environmentally friendly fishing gear in accordance with the provisions of the legislation," he said.

As reported, the KKP officially banned the export of lobster clear seeds, following the issuance of Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation (Permen KP) Number 17 of 2021 concerning Management of Lobster (Panulirus spp.), Crab (Scylla spp.), and Rajungan (Portunus spp.) in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia.

"This regulation is a manifestation of my promise after being sworn in as Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in December 2020. At that time, I had emphasized that BBL as one of Indonesia's marine resources must be cultivated in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. the same as the location of BBL arrests," explained Minister Trenggono.

Through the new regulation, Minister Trenggono hopes that all stakeholders involved with BBL can prosper in managing marine wealth based on a blue economy.

The material content in Permen KP 17/2021 includes procedures for catching lobster clear seeds (puerulus) or unpigmented lobsters, cultivation of lobster clear seeds; procedures for catching and/or releasing lobsters (Panulirus spp), and procedures for managing crabs and crabs in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia.
